I AM THE DEFINITION OF A GIRL BOSS?!

hey besties!!

I’m trying this new thing where I give you a collection of quality blog posts, not weekly posts that get stale or boring after a while. The solution? I’m going to post a new blog post of monthly updates every 12th! This way, I can allow myself to focus on all of my other projects and dedicate my time to making everything I put out things I can be genuinely proud of! Then, I only “brag” once a month lol.

for my first update, i got a job offer!

As some of you may know, I’ve been a server for the longest time, and at my previous job, it wasn’t the best fit for me anymore. I was writing in my journal, manifesting a successful career that will align with me better, and it worked! I was offered a front house manager position at a restaurant’s new location! Hopefully, the restaurant has already made its grand opening by the time this blog post is up! On top of this, I was able to make a deal with my employers here that I could still have time throughout the week to work on my podcast, so even though I might be a little spotty on social media every once in a blue moon, I’m not going anywhere! So as of right now, I am currently a restaurant front house manager, I’m a content creator at No Internal Monologue, and I’m a part-time virtual assistant! I’ve got a lot on my plate, but I feel like I can handle it! I’m so excited for this new opportunity!

Now, while I’m on the topic of my new professional endeavors, I want to make something very clear.

I am not openly sharing where I work with my social media following, and I am not openly sharing my social media following at work. I talked a bit about this on Episode 93, the first episode I recorded after I officially accepted the position, but I want to make sure I keep my professional, managerial side of my life and my authenticity-focused, fun and silly goofy content creation side of my life separate. This is to protect the restaurant and everyone associated with it from my side of the public eye, but it’s also to make sure I can still create content authentically and freely without having to worry about anyone at work possibly harassing me about it. I could possibly be stalked, have people try to take advantage of me, and I now not only have one reputation and set of expectations to hold up, but two different reputations and sets of expectations to meet and hold up. It’s going to be a bit of a challenge, but either way, I’m going to try to give myself grace and to keep in mind that I’m a human being, doing the best I can!

HOW EXCITING!

FOR MY SECOND UPDATE OF THE MONTH, I AM CURRENTLY BUILDING UP TO RELEASE MY FIRST EVER SOLO COLLECTION OF MERCH!

I am releasing five stickers as the first part of the collection, and I already have posters and additional sticker designs ready to go for the second part of the collection! The whole collection is called “Playing With Designs”, simply because the process of creating this collection was just me playing around with different softwares and tools to make everything possible! I am in no way a professional graphic designer, and I am in no way a veteran when it comes to small business etiquette and routines, but I wanted to experiment with doing everything myself! I always commend small businesses on how creative they are, how hard they work, and how uniquely and authentically they show up online! I wanted to put as much love and care into my merch line as other small businesses do, and I wanted to be involved in the process 100% of the time.

WHAT BETTER WAY TO DO IT THAN TO DO IT ALL MYSELF?!

I’m super excited for all of you to see what I have in store, and I’m even more excited for all of my internet besties to get your hands on the collection!

Now, the last update I have for you is about me moving!

I’m moving closer to the location of the restaurant I’ll be managing (duh!), and the living situation will be a little weird for a bit! I’m still planning on having my “office” set up to get started with YouTube and Patreon content, but it’ll change pretty fast. The apartment I’m moving into within the next couple of weeks is only a VERY temporary spot. I’m only going to be living there for a couple of months, simply because this job offer (from my perspective) came out of nowhere and was very unexpected. I’ve been pulling some strings (with tips and tricks from my employers and my parents) to make sure I have a roof over my head that’s close to my new job, and I wasn’t prioritizing what I would like in a place. Now, I can see it as an opportunity to block out more time to look for the “perfect” place for me! I’ll hopefully find my own place and be there by the start of July, and when this happens, I’ll go ALL OUT on my “office” and recording set-up! I’m manifesting that I’ll have everything planned out and ready to go by the time I post the next blog in May!

Fingers crossed!

Overall, I truly have been embodying “girl boss”!

I’ve been juggling three jobs (four counting the time I was transitioning out of my old job and into my new one), pulling strings and doing research with living situations, working with my website designer to get my first ever merch collection merch launched and presented to the world, and so much more! It’s been hectic, to say the least, but things will settle here pretty soon! We just gotta move in, open up the restaurant, and see what my daily schedule is going to look like! There’s a lot of change, and I’m taking on a lot of responsibility, but I’m so beyond excited for all of these adventures I’m embarking on, all the connections I’m making, and the opportunities and experiences I’ll be eternally grateful for!
